I used a piece of a book page, printed tissue paper and a piece of a sewing pattern. Layered over that are various rubber stamps, acrylic paints, and stencils. The colors on this page are so random but I think they work really well together.

Blast of Color Art Journal Page
Here is a random journal page with a lot of layers and color and color and layers:
